Meet Greg

Greg Dahms moved to the Okanagan Valley from Vancouver in 2002. Over the past two decades, he has built a life, career and community here—raising two children, becoming a local entrepreneur and business owner, working as a real estate professional, and dedicating hundreds of volunteer hours to organizations and causes that make a difference in the community.

As someone born and raised in British Columbia, Greg has always felt a strong responsibility to contribute to the communities he calls home. Throughout the past 25 years, he has been actively involved in community service and political life, driven by a genuine desire to help others and make his community a better place.

His commitment to volunteering started while raising his children and has continued throughout his life. Greg has served on fundraising and school committees, including the Linda Howorth Preschool Fundraising Committee and the Hillcrest Elementary Playground Committee and PAC. He has coached youth soccer, supported animal-safety initiatives, helped raise funds and awareness for the BC SPCA, and continues to volunteer at the Kelowna Mission Thrift Store.

Greg is also proud of the political experience he has gained over the years. While he has not yet won an election, he sees that not as a reason to step back, but as a reason to keep moving forward. His persistence, tenacity and belief in serving the community are what bring him back to the campaign trail.

Professional Expertise & Academic Background

Through my career as a local business owner, entrepreneur, and real estate expert, I have gained extensive hands-on knowledge in operational management, client relations, and strategic investment. These roles have reinforced my dedication to fiscal responsibility, transparency, and the cultivation of lasting professional partnerships.
My educational foundation includes a Diploma in Hospitality Administration, supplemented by ongoing coursework toward an Associate Degree in Business.

Dedicated Community Service

My passion for civic duty was sparked over four decades ago when I began volunteering with the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation, and it has remained a cornerstone of my life ever since.
During my time as a local entrepreneur, I prioritized social responsibility by launching initiatives for the BC SPCA, establishing sustainable recycling systems, and championing animal rights.
I have also actively raised funds and donations for essential organizations like the Salvation Army, the Gospel Mission, and the Humane Society. Currently, I am honored to have surpassed 600 hours of service at the Mission Thrift Store. To me, volunteering is a direct response to local needs rather than a quest for accolades.

Political Engagement & Leadership

For more than a quarter-century, I have been active in the political sphere. My journey began as an MLA candidate during the 2001 Provincial Election. Since then, I have served as a Fundraising Chair on a provincial party board, sharpening my skills in civic engagement, organizational strategy, and bridge-building between diverse viewpoints.
I remain committed to running for office because I believe our government thrives when individuals with tangible, real-world experience step forward to serve.

A Local Perspective on Kelowna

Having called Kelowna and the Okanagan Valley home for over twenty years, I have raised my family here and witnessed our transition into one of the most vibrant and fastest-growing regions in Canada.
This long-term residency provides me with a grounded understanding of the challenges facing our neighbors, including public safety, infrastructure needs, sustainable growth, and housing costs.
I believe municipal leadership should focus on a singular goal: creating a city where every resident can afford to live, work, and thrive while feeling a deep sense of pride in our community.
